The NBA2K League concluded their season this past weekend by hosting the finals. Last season’s title winner Wizards District Gaming represented the Eastern Conference. While Jazz Gaming won the Western Conference this season to earn a spot in the finals.
Game one was close. Wizards District Gaming took game one by seven points 69-62 to move ahead one game to nothing in the best of five series.
The defense took over in game two, in a much lower scoring contest. Wizards District Gaming held Jazz gaming to just 54 points. Though Wizards District Gaming only put up 60 points it was enough to get a six-point victory. This put Wizards District gaming up to two games to nothing in the series and within a singular win of repeating as champions.
Game three was pretty much par for the course for this series. Wizards District Gaming held Jazz Gaming to their lowest point total of the series, allowing just 53 points. They followed up on that by scoring a series-high 74 points. The 21-point win was the highest margin of victory in the series for Wizards District Gaming as they finished off the three games to none sweep.
The win gives Wizards District Gaming their second NBA2K League title in as many years. John “JBM” Mascone of Wizards District Gaming earned the finals MVP award. JBM averaged 22.7 points per game and 11.3 assists per game on route to the award. With the title Wizards District Gaming are the first two-time champion of the NBA 2K League.
