In another great night of “Big Time Boxing” at the Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, MI – the crowd witnessed Juan Carrillo take down Quinton Rankin in 27 seconds into the third round.
Both fighters came in and were equally focused and ready to battle. Carrillo came into this fight at a solid weight of 175.4 and Rankin closely followed, weighing in at 174.2.
This main event showdown was broadcast live and featured on the DAZN network and in this highly awaited matchup, there was a display of Rankin’s agility and Carrillo’s power.
Even though Carillo in the first round had stumbled when Rankin attacked him with his hooks, Carrillo in the next two rounds started to get into his rhythm and let loose a flurry of punches and eventually started to seize control. As a result, two strong left-handed uppercuts to the chin brought an end to the bout in the third round in favor of Juan Carrillo as the referee waived the fight off.
Carrillo credits his success in the ring to two and a half months of intensive preparation and rigorous training camps leading up to the fight. While he remains undefeated, he is constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities to test his abilities.
Even with a lot of the spotlight on the light heavyweight main event, the rounds of the undercard of the night were certainly something to see as well that featured:
