Chicago Bears season shows promise with first pick

April 25, 2024 was a day that will be remembered by all Chicagoans, a day that was both joyous and with a sense of hope for Chicago Bears Fans. The 2024 NFL Draft opened up with the Round 1, 1st Pick going to the Bears organization obtaining, the most promising quarterback for many, University of Southern Carolina’s Caleb Williams. A 2022 Heisman Trophy who looks to fill the spot and possibly surpass Bears traded former QB1 Justin Fields now at Pittsburgh. A player compared to three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, who has the elite arm talent and the ability to make off-platform throws with the highest degree of difficulty. The Bears were also pleased to get the Round 1 9th Pick of Washington’s, Wide Receiver, Rome Odunze. Who will provide fluidity and an abundance of options with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen in that area considering the latter is only under contract for this upcoming season? These picks were ones various fans were proud of and Tunnel Vision Sports had a chance to chat with fans at the NFL Draft Party about their opinions on the Chicago Bears picks.

Caleb Williams will start; Bears will make the playoffs

TVS first spoke with Chicago Bears fan Josh on his reaction to the Bears getting Williams at the number-one pick and if he thinks he’ll just be on the bench adapting to the league or starting right away.

“He’s gonna go into the fold. Yeah, he’s the number-one pick for a reason. Justin Fields wasn’t it, obviously, for the Bears. And they’re going in the right direction.”

TVS also spoke with Josh on his hopes for Bears 9th pick, wide receiver Rome Odunze, and if he’ll give the organization something with what is already in place of DJ Moore and Keenan.

“That’s gonna be amazing, because Keenan Allen’s on a one-year deal, because he’s not gonna get paid. So, you might as well get DJ Moore, and you get Romo Donze on a rookie deal. So, it’s gonna be amazing.”

Go Bears! Go Bears!

TVS lastly spoke with Josh on what his hopes are for the Bears in this upcoming season

“I see us making the playoffs for sure. Hopefully winning the division, not going in as a wild card. You know, Chicago Cubs are going make the playoffs, and the Bears are going make the playoffs. So, Chicago sports are coming, for sure, absolutely. Man, honestly, you know, bear down, and let’s go.”

TVS then spoke with Carl on similar questions initially on his reaction to Caleb Williams.

“He’s going be starting. They’ve already gotten offensive linemen here for him. They’ve taken enough players in previous drafts and in the pre-agency, setting them up really well, getting Keenan Allen, and getting Bates as an offensive lineman. So he’s actually walking in a good situation.”

Carl also commented on his hopes for the season and if the team has a chance of making the playoffs.

“Last year, seven, they probably could’ve won nine. This season probably ten games and make the playoffs. Go Bears! Go Bears!”
