Broncos

Preview Of Matchup

The Denver Broncos (2-0) hosted the New York Jets (0-2) at Empower Field at Mile High. For their home opener.

The Denver Broncos were coming off a 23-13 victory over Jacksonville. The Broncos looked to continue their dominance against the Jets.

The New York Jets were coming off a tough 25-6 loss to the Patriots. They needed to get going offensively because their rookie quarterback Zach Wilson threw four interceptions last week against the Patriots. He needed to be more cautious throwing the ball and stay away from turnovers if they wanted to win this game in Denver.

Von Miller and the Denver Defense Fluster Jets Through Two

The Broncos’ offense would get the ball to open the game. Teddy Bridgewater and the Denver offense punted the ball five plays later. The next Broncos drive Bridgewater, and the Denver offense would march down the field with ease. They would come away with the game’s first score with a one-yard touchdown from rookie running back Javonte Williams to go up 7-0.

The Broncos applied pressure all throughout the first half. As Zach Wilson was not able to get anything going on offense early on. The Broncos would connect on a 45-yard field goal by Brandon McManus to make it 10-0. Their running game was leading the way on offense as Melvin Gordon would score on a one-yard rushing touchdown heading into halftime. The Broncos led 17-0 at halftime.

The Jets struggling over the course of the first two games. We saw much of the same struggles of Zach Wilson and the Jets offense through two quarters. As they only had. Five total first downs in the first half to Denver’s 13. As well a 55 yards total yards in the first half. The offensive line struggles continued as Zach Wilson was sacked four times and was hit five times in the first half. The Jets needed to get the passing game going and stay away from turnovers. If they wanted to get back into this ballgame.

The Broncos had a stellar half offensively and defensively. Von Miller and the defensive unit got to the quarterback and made it difficult for Zach Wilson and that is what they need. to continue doing in the second half. The running game was the focal point as Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon had two touchdowns on the ground and the running game seems to be the Broncos’ best friend right now. Bridgewater will look to continue to find Courtland Sutton in the second half, but if the running game keeps dominating as they did in the first half. Broncos would be in good shape to come away with a win.

Broncos Force Two Interceptions to Close Out the Jets

Jets’ struggles continued offensively as they went three and out on their first drive of the third quarter. Broncos would add on to their lead with another Brandon McManus field goal to make it a 20-0 game.

Into the fourth quarter, the Jets defense was under duress as the running game was nonexistent and the passing game just wasn’t able to get going. Wilson was picked off by the all-pro safety Justin Simmons.

The Broncos were able to pitch a shutout and come away with a 26-0 victory over the Jets. As the Broncos’ defense made it hard for the rookie quarterback to generate any type of offense. The offense was not able to establish a rhythm and that haunted them all game long.

Teddy Bridgewater yet again played a clean game. No turnovers and that’s just why Denver has been having success and still are undefeated thus far. The running game has set the tone and Bridgewater has just played at a very high level. Denver had a huge injury as second-year player KJ Hamler left the game with a knee injury. Broncos are down big in their wide receiver position as Jerry Jeudy is on IR and now Hamler’s injury status is unknown. As to how much time Hamler will miss. However, the Broncos are 3-0 and the defense looks unstoppable with Von Miller back from his devastating Achilles injury just a year ago. As they look to make a playoff run after missing the playoffs for five years.
